About
Our Work
Our work aims to redress racism within the dietetic profession and within dietetic and nutrition services in Canada. We draw on qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches to unearth the scale, symptoms, and impact of racism for the dietetic profession and the individuals and communities that dietitians serve.
Our work is guided by the Mission, Vision, and Values, as well as the Guiding Principles that were developed by the Research Team and Advisory Circle.
Our Team
Our team includes researchers, educators, practitioners, and undergraduate, graduate, and practicum students in dietetics, as well as other health professions and areas of research from across Turtle Island.
Our work is led by the Research Team, a core group of university faculty in nutrition and dietetics. An Advisory Circle, made up of researchers, dietitians, and students, supports and oversees planning and decision making at every step of the research process. Undergraduate and graduate student research assistants are employed to support various facets of our work and receive mentorship from the members of the Research Team and Advisory Circle.
We are committed to advancing racial justice and decolonization in and through our work within dietetics and beyond. This commitment means that we strive to ensure racial and other forms of diversity within our team and to draw on and promote the work, insights, and experiences of racialized and Indigenous people.
